Pest Exclusion

Pest exclusion is the first line of defense against invasion by exotic pests. The Agricultural Commissioner enforces all laws, rules and regulations relative to the prevention of the introduction or spread of plant pests and diseases that are potentially devastating to agricultural crops, livestock, and the environment. Incoming commercial and private shipments of plant material are subject to inspection for compliance with plant quarantine regulations. Infested or prohibited shipments are subject to regulatory action. One of the first lines of defense are the California dog teams, which are an integral piece of the inspection process against invasive pest in California. Meet Taz!
